Change the data source of a visualisation

If you have created a visualisation with the data selected and now you want to change the data file, so change data source allows you to do that.

Important

To change data source, you must have to create a visualisation which is associated with a data file.

Step 1: To “change data source”, click on the “Data” tab in “Dashboards”.

Step 2: A popup will appear with following information:

Matching Options:

  • Use Column headers: matching the column name in header of the old and new data source file.
  • Use Column Indexes: matching the column order in the old and new data source file.

File name: name of the selected file.

File Selector: Select file

Notes: if the selected file inconsistent or valid.

Step 3: Click “Select file” under “File Selector” to change your data file.

Step 4: Select your file from the file tree popup.

Step 5: If the “new file” is inconsistent with the visualisation, the whole table row will turn red and you have to choose another file.

Step 6: If the “new file” is consistent with the visualisation, the whole table row will turn blue and the file is “validated”.

Step 7: Click “OK” and data file is changed.

Step 8: Share your dashboard with others by clicking on “Share” in menu bar and switch toggle button to “Public”.

Step 9: To embed the dashboard in other web page, click on “” icon on the element to get the URL link to the created container.
