Design your own report summary by selecting metrics

Step 1: To create a custom report, go to “Dashboards” using the navigation menu.

Step 2: Select the “Analysis” option to view all the reports.

Step 3:  Select the “Report” option.

Note:  You can see the default report in your work area. Drag it to wherever you want it to be placed. Also, you can resize it by dragging the bottom right corner.

Step 4: Click “Edit”   on the report header to edit your report’s data, metrics, appearance and social settings.

Step 5: To link data to the report, select the desired file from the left file tree.

Step 6: To include a column of data in your report, select “Report item” in its header.

Step 7: Select the “Report” tab to edit the metrics to include and other report attributes.

Report attributes:

  • Name: The name of report. By default, it is “Report item 1”.
  • Description: description of  the table.
  • Metrics: The metric you want to analyse with your data.

Metric selector:

  1. Above: a value higher than threshold value (percent or number of values).
  2. Below: a value lower than threshold value (percent or number of values).
  3. Threshold: the value that sets the standard for a certain condition to occur.
  1. Average: mean of desired value divided by the all the values present in data.
  2. Median: middle value of all the values present in the data.
  3. Standard deviation: used to calculate the variation in the data.
  4. Standard error: measures the accuracy, the smaller it is, the more accurate the data will be.
  5. Maximum: maximum value in the data set.
  6. Minimum: minimum value in the data set.
  7. Coefficient of variation: value obtained after dividing standard deviation by mean.
  8. Pearson’s skew: it determines the direction and extent of skewness (asymmetry) in the data values.
  9. Count: the total count of the values in data.
  • Add metric: Add more than one metric to your data.
  • Columns: the selected columns represent the report item number.

Step 7: After selecting the properties, go to the “Formatting” tab.

Properties include:

  • Title-font: the title font size, type and colour.
  • Title-background: the title background colour.
  • Header font: the header font size, type and colour.
  • Body font:the body font size, type and colour .
  • Alignment: alignment of the text.

Edit the settings of your visualisation for sharing on social media

To edit the information that will accompany the report when sharing on social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), select the ‘Social’ tab.

Share your report

Share your dashboard with reports or a specific report using “Share” tab under “Dashboards”.
